DailyRussian
An iOS app for building Russian through spaced repetition, structured reference, and contextual reading.
From recall to real language
DailyRussian is built around repeated contact with the same language in different forms. A word first appears in focused practice, becomes clearer through its grammatical structure, and returns later inside conversations and longer texts.

Practice what is due
A spaced-repetition session brings back vocabulary when it is due. Reveal the meaning, hear the Russian pronunciation, and rate recall from blank to easy to schedule the next review.

Search a working vocabulary
Search in Russian or English and narrow the collection by part of speech. The dictionary stays available as a tool rather than becoming a separate study ritual.

See how a word behaves
Word details keep pronunciation, aspectual pairs, conjugations, past-tense forms, and noun or adjective declensions together, so vocabulary is learned as usable language rather than isolated definitions.

Read everyday Russian
Short passages and conversations introduce idioms and natural phrasing at several difficulty levels. Translation, notes, and full-passage audio remain close when needed.

Move into longer texts
Curated stories extend practice into longer Russian text. Each one pairs the original with selected vocabulary, a translation, and spoken playback without interrupting the reading flow.
A small system for steady progress
Return, do not cram
Daily practice is paced by recall. Familiar words wait longer; difficult words return sooner, keeping attention on what is most useful today.
Learn in layers
The same language moves from recognition to structure and then to context. Vocabulary, grammar, reading, and review reinforce one another instead of living in separate tools.
Keep help nearby
Stress marks, pronunciation, translations, notes, and grammatical forms are available at the point of confusion, while Russian remains the primary material on screen.
Built with SwiftUI, Core Data, AVSpeechSynthesizer, an SM-2-style review scheduler, and an integrated OpenRussian dataset. Learning records remain local to the app.
